This one is just a little mix i through together for my twitter background. It goes no deeper than I love penguins and I’m a bit of a pervert.

The First Lady
This one is actually from about 6 years ago. It was the first one of my ladies I wall-painted so i thought it deserved a place up here.

This week I have been assisting the costume designer for Elaine Constantine’s new film Northern soul. The film is set during the 1970s when black American soul music began popping off around the north of the country and the ‘Northern Soul’ dance phenomenon began, creating a whole new sub-culture of spinning, dropping, ankle swinging youths.

While styling and fitting the actors in their high wasted oxford trousers, button up shirts and brogues, it was quickly apparent that this is not just a job for them, they all bounce off each other, and discuss how long they’ve been ‘into the Northern Soul scene’, on set they shout out and request their own favourite records and rehearse their own signature moves. Watching them on set dancing away in costume genuinely made me wish I was young in the 1970’s or that my teenage years had something more substantial than the Soulja Boy dance to define them by.
